Change Your Primary Care Provider

As a Tufts Health Plan member, you must pick a primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP coordinates your health care. He or she gets to know your health needs so you get the best care at all times. Unless it’s an emergency, call your PCP first. If you do not choose a PCP when you join Tufts Health RITogether, we will pick one for you.

You can use our Find a Doctor, Hospital or Pharmacy tool to choose or change your PCP. You can search by name, location, gender and more.

You can change your PCP using your member portal. With your member portal, you can manage your health care any time and:

  • Order a new Tufts Health RITogether ID card
  • Check if your PCP needs prior authorization for you to get a certain service
  • Check the status of an authorization or referral

If you need help choosing a PCP, would like more information about a provider or need a paper copy of our provider directory, please call us at 866.738.4116 (TTY: 711). We’re open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
