You could pay less to connect!

Federal program can help

February 21, 2023

We all need to connect to the internet for things like work, school, health care visits and more. But internet services and the devices we need to connect can be costly.

The good news is that you can get help through the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The ACP offers discounts on broadband internet services and devices that connect to the internet.

As a member of Tufts Health Plan, we want you to have fast and reliable internet service so you can get the most out of your health plan.

How it works

As part of the ACP, your household* may get:

  • A discount on the cost of internet services
    • Households can get up to a $30 discount each month
    • Households on Tribal lands can get up to a $75 discount each month
  • A one-time discount of up to $100 on the cost of a device to connect. You can use this to buy a laptop, desktop computer or tablet. To get the discount, you need to:
    • Buy the device from a participating provider
    • Pay part of the cost (at least $10 and no more than $50) of the device
  • A low-cost internet service plan that may be fully covered

Enroll in 2 easy steps

  1. Go to the ACP website to apply
  2. Contact your preferred participating provider to:
    • Select a service plan
    • Have the discount applied to your bill
      • (Your current provider may participate in the program and offer the discount. In that case, you can apply the discount to your current plan.)

*Medicaid members and those who already have Lifeline automatically qualify for the ACP. You can get both Lifeline and ACP benefits. Simply call your provider to have your ACP discounts applied to your account.
