June 26, 2024
The state has resumed the normal annual renewal process for Medicaid members. This process is how the state confirms your eligibility.
Yearly renewals were paused during the COVID-19 public health emergency. From April 2023 through April 2024, the state reviewed eligibility of all Medicaid members. During this time, here’s what members may have experienced:
- Automatic renewal. The state was able to confirm that they qualified using state and federal data.
- Renewal after providing information. The state sent letters asking people to send them more information when they couldn’t confirm their eligibility.
- Loss of coverage. This could be due to no longer qualifying. Or people may not have answered the state’s request for more information.
How this affects you
All renewed members are now back on the yearly renewal schedule. To stay covered:
- Make sure the state has the right address, phone number, email for you. They will contact you with information about your coverage.
- Look out for renewal notices (yellow paper) or requests for more information (white paper).
- Follow the directions by the due date in the letter.
When will you need to renew?
The renewal process is rolling. Not everyone will get their notice at the same time. The state sends notices out at the start of each month.

Your renewal date may change, so check back often.
Lost your coverage?
You may still be able to enroll if:
- You did not respond to the state’s request for information.
- Your income or family size has changed.
