You will now get your Rhode Island Medicaid benefits from Tufts Health RITogether. You may have signed up. Or the State may have assigned you to our plan. Either way, we are happy to have you as a member! This welcome kit has all the details you need to get started. To learn more about the plan, go to our website. Join our member portal and choose a primary care provider (PCP)

Our member portal is an easy way to get the information you need any time. Find a health care provider, view your new member ID card and more. Sign up now.

You also can get the Tufts Health Plan app and start using the portal on your smartphone. To get the app, visit: 

You will need to have a PCP who is part of our network. Your PCP is the person you will see for much of your care. He or she helps keep you healthy. You can use the member portal to check the PCP assigned to you or choose a new PCP.

Earn a $10 CVS gift card

Call  888-738-4116 (TTY: 711) and give us the name of your PCP within 30 days of becoming a member.

You can choose from our network of excellent, trusted health care providers. Visit TuftsHealthPlan.com/RIproviders to find a PCP, hospital or another provider. See if the providers you see now are in our network or search for new ones.

Take our health survey

You can earn a $25 CVS gift card if you take the survey within 90 days of when your plan starts. We’ll get in touch by phone or by mail and let you know how to fill it out!

Why we collect data

We collect data to better serve your needs. To get helpful data, we may ask about your: 

  • Race, ethnicity and language
  • Disability status
  • Sexual orientation and gender identity
  • Social determinants of health (SDOH) (These are non-medical issues that may affect your health. SDOH can include things like where you live and work, your access to food, and more.)

We may gather this data when you have a health assessment or by phone, email or text. We use it to: 

  • Respect your identity and preferences
  • Reduce health inequities
  • Give you services and materials that meet your cultural needs

We follow federal and state laws and our own rules when we collect and use data. Our Notice of Privacy Practices describes our practices with respect to data. 

We do not use this data to make decisions about your coverage or eligibility.

You can ask for a printed copy of your Member Handbook in other formats, such as large print or braille. We can give you material in different languages. 

We have bilingual staff and free translation services in more than 200 languages.

The Rhode Island All-Payer Claims Database

All health plans in Rhode Island, including Tufts Health Plan, send claims information to the Rhode Island All-Payer Claims Database (APCD). The APCD as part of the State’s work on health care reform. Policy makers use APCD reports to make better health care decisions.

Your claims data will be included in the APCD. We send this data securely, and it is anonymous. That means that people’s names are not sent.

We hope that you will choose to be a part of the APCD to help improve health care in Rhode Island. However, you can choose not to take part. Adults can opt out themselves. Parents/guardians of members under the age of 18 can opt out on their dependent’s behalf.
