Tufts Health Plan Holds Small Business Accelerator Forum for Providence-Area Businesses
Small business leaders and owners joined Tufts Health Plan for the forum
Providence, RI – Small business leaders and owners from across the Providence area joined Tufts Health Plan and The Honorable Jorge Elorza, Mayor of Providence, for a Small Business Accelerator Forum on October 4, 2017. The forum provided local leaders with an important networking opportunity and other resources they need to help maximize their business success.
"We have a great business community here in Providence with innovative leaders like Tufts Health Plan who work tirelessly to integrate into the community," said Mayor Elorza. “We’ve done a lot locally to streamline services and processes to make it easier to both start and grow a business and these Forums are an important resource for local leaders to engage and learn about their options and help their businesses continue to thrive.”
The forum was designed to educate local business leaders on topics including accessing capital for business growth, health insurance options and legal resources. In addition to Tufts Health Plan and Mayor Elorza, presenters included the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice and the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation.
“We are happy to be able to celebrate the continued growth and accomplishments of these local businesses, which are vital to the strength of our diverse communities,” said Juan Lopera, Tufts Health Plan’s vice president of business diversity. “We look forward to continuing these conversations in Rhode Island, and we encourage local leaders to contact us or the other presenters if they need help navigating the system.”
The event was the fourth in a series of Small Business Accelerator Forums sponsored by Tufts Health Plan. The forums are designed to serve as a collaborative where leaders from relevant industries can engage with small business owners about how to best to overcome the challenges they face in today’s marketplace, while bringing resources to the communities to help these businesses grow and move to the next level.
