In-network

We cover a full range of Behavioral Health (mental health and substance use) services. Coverage for some in-network services will require notification and others may require prior authorization for visits to in-network, behavioral health providers. Additionally, use our Find a Doctor, Hospital, or Pharmacy tool to check whether a provider is in-network.

Out-of-network

An out-of-network provider is a provider who does not contract with Tufts Health Plan. We require prior authorization to determine medical necessity for a Member to receive out-of-network provider services. We consider a number of factors when reviewing prior authorization requests. Prior authorization can be requested by submitting the appropriate prior authorization request form.
