Women's Health

As a member of Tufts Health Plan, you can get a gynecological checkup once a year.

Your primary care provider (PCP) can provide this checkup, or you can choose to see an obstetrician/gynecologist. Your yearly checkup is a good time to ask any questions and learn more about your health. You can also talk with your provider about family-planning options that suit your needs.

Detection and prevention

Regular pap tests can help detect precancerous cells and cervical cancer early when treatment is most effective.

Women ages 40 to 74 should have a regular mammogram to help detect breast cancer as early as possible. Ask your provider how often you should have a mammogram.
