We’re Here for You!

Our care management team is here to help.

June 30, 2020

The coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic has been difficult for all of us. We know you’re concerned about your health and the health of those you love. And you may be struggling to feed your family and pay your bills. We get it. Our care management team is here to help.

Your health

Care managers are calling members at high risk for COVID-19 to see if they need help dealing with their health issues.

“People are very concerned about what’s going on,” says Marilena Santizo, a nurse care manager. “I talk with them about symptoms of COVID-19, the right way to wash their hands and social distancing. I ask if they have help at home. I also talk with them about their medical and emotional needs.”

Marilena helps members like you learn how to:

  • Get care from your providers. Most providers offer telehealth visits by phone or video chat. Your plan covers these visits.
  • Get different levels of care.
  • Get your drugs. Call your pharmacy before you run out. The pharmacy will request a refill from your provider. Ask your pharmacy if they can mail or deliver your drugs to you.

Beyond health care

Our team also helps members who need other support to get through this crisis. A community outreach specialist calls members to find out how they feel and what they need.

“A lot of people are out of work,” says Joyce Healey-Sirois, care manager community outreach specialist. “They have more needs than they did before the pandemic. Food is the biggest issue. So I help members find a food pantry or apply for SNAP. I also can help with housing or talk with them about how to get community resources.”
