The Pandemic Isn't Over Yet!

There's still time to get the vaccine

September 30, 2021

It’s been more than a year since the COVID-19 pandemic started, and things are still up in the air. More people are getting the vaccine, most restrictions have been lifted, and businesses are open.

Though we’ve come a long way, we haven’t yet reached herd immunity. Herd immunity is when enough people have been vaccinated that COVID-19 can’t easily spread.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 infections are on the rise due to the Delta variant. But most people who get very ill or die from COVID-19 now are those who did not get a vaccine.

Getting a vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and the people you love. The vaccines are well researched and are proven to be safe and effective. Talk with your provider if you have any questions about COVID-19 or the vaccine.

The good news is it’s easier than ever to get the vaccine—and it’s at no cost to you. Anyone age 12 and older is strongly encouraged to get vaccinated for CVOID-19. Visit the State’s website at covid.ri.gov to find out where you can get the vaccine.
