Serving Our Communities

We’re committed to improving the health and wellness of the diverse communities we serve

December 21, 2021

We take that mission to heart. These projects in Central Falls, show some of the things we do to improve the lives and the health of people in our communities.

Futsal Courts

Futsal is a popular soccer-based game played on a hard court. Tufts Health Plan sponsored two new futsal courts on Ledge Street in Central Falls. This is part of a project with the City of Centeal Falls and Project Goal. These state-of-the-art courts will support the health and wellness of families in the area for many years.

Healthy Héroes

Healthy Héroes is a fun health and wellness program we recently ran for third grade students at two schools in Central Falls. The free 8-week program inspired kids to cut back their screen time and adopt healthy habits. Local groups, like the YMCA, the American Heart Association and the University of Rhode Island nutrition education program helped out. They taught kids about eating right and being active. Kids had fun and earned prizes for doing certain activities at home.

In Your Community

Look for Wendy Manon, a member of our community relations team, when you go to local events in your area. Wendy goes to many activities that help improve the health of Rhode Island families. You can talk with Wendy about Tufts Health RITogether and ask her any questions you have about the plan. Email her at Wendy.Manon@point32health.org to catch up with her at the next event or ask a question before then.
