Your behavioral health (BH) is just as important as your physical health. That’s why we embrace care that focuses on your mind and body. Your Tufts Health Direct plan covers comprehensive BH services, including outpatient, inpatient and emergency services. You also have access to innovative programs to meet your BH needs in person or virtually.
Behavioral Health Service Navigation Program
We’ve made it easier for you to get the BH services you need when you need them. We have highly trained BH service navigation teams that can guide you from the very first phone call and make sure you have compassionate and streamlined experiences. Our BH service navigators can:
- Give you personal support
- Help you find a BH network provider that meets your needs
- Help you make timely appointments
- Help remove barriers that make it difficult for you to get care
- Talk with you about BH programs, exclusive resources, support tools and other services

Tufts Health Direct offers a variety of BH programs and services to meet the unique needs of our members. These programs provide personalized and effective care that can help you and your covered family members make progress on your healing journey.
Virtual therapy services
Many BH providers in our network offer virtual sessions so you can visit your BH provider from the comfort of home. Virtual therapy services are available seven days a week to support your mental health, manage your medications and more.

AbleTo
Need help managing stress, changing unhealthy habits, improving your mood, or managing your time? AbleTo is a virtual wellness program that gives you access to a range of options from self-care techniques to virtual therapy sessions with AbleTo licensed therapists.

Northeast Health Services
You have access to a complete set of outpatient clinic services in-person at over 23 locations in Massachusetts and virtually via telehealth. Northeast Health Services provides outpatient therapy, medication management and psychological and neuropsychological testing to children, adolescents, and adults.

Valera Health
Adults, adolescents and children aged 6 and older who suffer with conditions ranging from mild depression to severe schizophrenia can access virtual services through Valera Health. Their expert clinicians use a collaborative approach, focused on their members’ needs and overall well-being.

Cortica
Cortica is a doctor-led autism services provider that offers advanced neurological therapies for children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental differences. They use a whole-child integrated care model all under one roof to help reduce wait times for diagnostic assessments, medical care, applied behavior analysis, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social skills coaching and counseling.

Substance use treatment
Our comprehensive approach to substance use disorder covers outpatient services, immersive inpatient treatments and emergency services. We offer support every step of the way for members who are dealing with alcohol use disorder, opioid addiction and other substance use challenges.

Better Life Partners
Better Life Partners’ care team of licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral clinicians, peer specialists and community health coordinators provide whole person outpatient substance use disorder treatment. The team integrates primary and BH care and addresses members’ physical, emotional and social health needs.
