New Benefit Addresses Growing Interest in Yoga

We’re collaborating with Ompractice to provide discounted, online yoga and meditation classes

January 27, 2020

Yoga is a growing practice that offers a wide range of health benefits, from increased flexibility and muscle strength to relaxation and stress reduction. To respond to the growing interest in yoga, Tufts Health Plan is collaborating with Ompractice to provide commercial members1 with access to virtual yoga and meditation classes at a discounted rate, effective January 1, 2020.

Ompractice is a platform that delivers live, interactive, online yoga and meditation classes. Using two-way video via laptop or phone, Ompractice allows members to participate in live classes with instruction and direction from a yoga teacher.

The CDC found that yoga practice among US adults increased from 9.5 percent in 2012 to 14.3 percent in 2017, and meditation among US adults grew from 4.1 percent in 2012 to 14.2 percent in 2017.
