UnitedHealthcare Selected as National Network Partner
For all commercial employer groups and their employees beginning on January 1, 2023
We are pleased to announce that we have selected UnitedHealthcare as our national network partner offering access to more than 1.2M providers and 6,700 hospitals for all of our (commercial) employer groups1 and their employees beginning on January 1, 2023. This decision expands our strategic partnership with UnitedHealthcare who already serves as our national network provider for Harvard Pilgrim clients and supports our commitment to ensuring that affordable and high-quality care is easily accessible to your clients and our members.
We are sharing this news with you today so that you are aware of the future enhancements we are making and can better support your clients. While nothing changes today, please note the following:
Tufts Health Plan clients:
- This partner selection will deliver access to 20% more providers nationwide, which includes both medical and behavioral health care.
- Changes to these clients’ plans will occur within their migration timeline and future renewal in 2023 (small group) and 2024 (large group) respectively. Until then, your Tufts Health Plan clients will continue to use their current nationwide access through Cigna. All current plan designs, coverage, costs, and copays will remain as indicated on each member’s ID card today.
- Large group clients may request a disruption analysis report for more specific network impact details.
Harvard Pilgrim clients:
- This decision on national network partner does not create any change today.
As a reminder, the UnitedHealthcare network further complements our existing and robust New England-focused network (MA, NH, RI, CT, ME, VT) of nearly 100K providers and every hospital to ensure that each commercial member of both Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim have access to superior care and facilities both locally and nationwide.
